Passengers have now flown on Global Airlines' first Airbus A380, marking a significant milestone for the UK-based start-up. Founded in 2021 by travel entrepreneur James Asquith, Global Airlines aims to revive the golden age of flying by operating a fleet of Airbus A380s with a strong focus on premium passenger experiences. One of the standout features of the airline’s A380 is its onboard ‘Sky Pub,’ located on the upper deck, designed to create a more social and engaging in-flight atmosphere.
The A380 is the largest commercial airliner ever built, with the capacity to carry up to 850 passengers in an all-economy configuration. Despite its engineering marvel and luxury appeal, Airbus ended production of the A380 in 2021 due to high operational costs and a market shift toward more fuel-efficient, smaller aircraft. Now, with travel demand rebounding, Global Airlines is breathing new life into the superjumbo, positioning itself as an innovative force in aviation and redefining what long-haul travel can look like.
